Weak Chin, Lack of Jawline
Weak Chin, Lack of Jawline
A “strong” and well-defined jawline and chin have traditionally been associated as being attractive physical traits.
In addition, a balanced chin improves overall facial appearance and can influence nasal projection. For example, a weak chin can increase the severity of an overprojected nose.
The primary reason for a weak chin profile is due to genetics; there is insufficient frontal projection of the chin pad or bone of the chin. Other than the storing of excessive fat around the jawline, patients can also have a weak jaw/mandible as a result of genetics.
A balanced facial profile can be achieved by augmenting the chin and jawline with dermal fillers, resulting in improved facial harmony.
Recommendations:
- Vibroliposculpture of excessive chin fat*
- High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)* to tighten skin around chin and jawline
- Fillers* for chin projection and defined jawline
